Minecraft is one of those games where you can have a broad goal in mind, only to get distracted by a hundred and one minor little things that you end up doing instead. It starts with making things a little more aesthetically pleasing or making a few bookshelves to line the walls. Before you know it, you’ve built another five floors to your home, altered the course of a river and paved the roads with gold blocks just because you can.
Getting sidetracked is something that happens all too often when I play this game, though I’m often having too much fun to notice. The original task you set out to do will still be there when you’re done, unless Endermen picked up your building project and carried it off somewhere. If you ever find a hole in one of your buildings, that’s why.
