Lonesome Village Demo - Solve Puzzles and Rescue Villagers in this Zelda/Animal Crossing Themed Game
A playthrough of the demo for Lonesome Village, a puzzle game that draws inspiration from Zelda (primarily the aesthetics) and Animal Crossing. You play as Wes the coyote to solve puzzles and decorate your new home in the town of Lonesome after everyone was abducted and turned to stone inside the creepy tower that rose from the earth.
The aesthetics are quite nice and it looks interesting. I seem to have misread initially as I thought it would have dungeon delving in the theme of Zelda while building up your home and village, as opposed to just solving puzzles in the dungeon. Puzzles are a bit on the easy side (other than the grid puzzle which I tend to do bad at, especially after the much harder one in Later Alligator).
I've never played Animal Crossing so I can't really comment on how well it's looking to fulfill that angle. A problem I noticed is since the entirety of controls are the directional keys and space bar (or mouse click) to interact, you're not really sure what's interactable. The lack of dialogue makes the NPCs a bit less interesting and leaves some questions - some had a "!" speech bubble, but interacting did nothing.
So I'm a bit on the fence about this one, but if you are interested in it you can support their Kickstarter at https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/ogrepixel/lonesome-village
