This is the longplay of the game Choujin Sentai Jetman (鳥 人 戦 隊 ジ ェ ッ ト マ ン - Chōjin Sentai Jettoman), action game and platform released exclusively for Famicom (Japanese NES) on December 21, 1991. This game was based on the tokusatsu Choujin Sentai Jetman series , Japanese series from the Super Sentai franchise shown in Japan between 1991 and 1992. The game contains the same protagonists and villains from the series, as well as weapons, creatures, etc. The plot of the game is quite summarized.
As said before, the game is based on the TV series. Among the characters are Ryu Tendo (Red Hawk), Kaori Rokumeikan (White Swan), Raita Oishi (Yellow Owl), Ako Hayasaka (Blue Swallow) and Gai Yuki (Black Condor). The villains, present in different areas (maps) of the game, have the same characteristics of the series, however we only face their giant versions; because of that, only with the giant robot can we face them. At that time the game changes from platform to fighting game.
It is a relatively simple game, but I really liked it. The cutscenes are few but they are quite well done. Red Hawk and Black Condor use swords; White Swan and Blue Swallow use pistols and Yellow Owl uses his own fists to beat enemies. Pressing up + attack button, the personage delivers a kick, in addition to having a special attack that defeats all enemies on the screen. When fighting bosses, heroes summon the Giant Mecha. In that case we can only play with Great Icarus (merger between Jet Icarus and Jet Garuda). Jetman was considered to be the first adaptation of the Power Rangers, but the first Super Sentai series to receive the western adaptation was Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger, who succeeded Jetman.
