0Rather than describe the route, let's just list all the items I get.
-1/2 magic cost (as a kid I was always confused by the dialogue and thought it did something to make me weaker)
-Flute (it's stupid that you can't keep the shovel in the SNES version, especially when it takes a whole two seconds to get the flute, so the shovel gets no use!)
-I play the arrow shooting mini-game, and mess up once because I'm not playing it safe.
-I grab the piece of heart in the digging mini-game (first try, woot)
-I get the duck from the town square so that the flute is actually useful.
