LUCIFER Season 6 is BACK after cancellation! Tom Ellis signs contract with Netflix | Season 5 news
Wow, guys! This is unbelievable news!! Just when we lost all hope, after last June Netflix officially announced that the upcoming Season 5 of Lucifer will be its last, the streaming giant changed its decision and RENEWED Lucifer for Season 6! We learned that Tom Ellis has just signed his Lucifer Season 6 contract with Netflix after long and difficult negotiations. This is the SECOND time since its debut on FOX in 2016 that the show is getting cancelled and then resuscitated, which is ironic considering Lucifer’s subject matter. To remind you, Season 5 renewal was confirmed in June 2019, just one month after the release of the fourth season. At the same time, Netflix also officially announced that Season 5 would be the final chapter of Lucifer Morningstar’s story, but in attempt to sweeten the pill for fans, it extended the episode count for Season 5 from 10 to 16, divided into two parts. The fifth season renewal also made Lucifer the second-longest Netflix Original series with 83 episodes total, trailing behind Orange Is The New Black with 91 episodes, and followed by House of Cards with 73. Should Season 6 be indeed made, it will make Lucifer the longest ever Netflix Original show. Season 5 release was expected in Fall 2020, but it may be delayed, since filming was halted in March when it had just a few days left to shoot, due to coronavirus pandemic.
