Hey, guys! So, the seventh season of The 100 premiered on The CW on Wednesday, May 20th. It will have 16 episodes, bringing the total episode count for the series to …., that’s right – one hundred. The Season 7 finale is going to air approximately at the end of September. Now to the bad news. The 100th episode, aka the Season 7 finale of The 100, will also be the series finale, as The CW has already officially confirmed that Season 8 of The 100 is cancelled. The show will end after six years on television, 36 award nominations, 7 wins and hundreds of thousands of loyal fans all over the world. Now, to sweeten the pill for the fans, the show’s creator Jason Rothenberg promised to give a very satisfying ending to the story of Clarke, Bellamy and the rest of the gang. “It’ll be our version of a happy ending," he said. Also, Rothenberg is currently working on a spin-off to The 100, which will be a prequel set many years before the events of The 100. Which is why you won’t, unfortunately, see any of your favorite Skaikru members cast in the new show. Three of the cast members for the spin-off are Iola Evans from Carnival Row, Adain Bradley from The Bold and the Beautiful and Leo Howard from Why Women Kill. Season 7 of The 100 is expected to be released on Netflix right after it wraps up on TV, approximately at the end of September.
