Guide for Luong's basic tools and combos to get you started playing The King of Fighters XIV. These combos may not be optimized, but range from beginner to intermediate in difficulty and should give you a head start in learning this character. Feedback and questions are welcome!

Footnotes:
* = If you land the anti air qcf A too low to the ground, you'll still be able to connect the hcb B, but you won't be able to connect the qcfx2 K. So leave it out.

Additional notes:
Luong reminds me of KOFXIII's Karate, in which all of her damage comes from that damn EX ranbu super. That thing doesn't scale at all, and thankfully she has a lot of opportunities to land it. Being able to land a super reliably off an anti-air is very strong.

Luong isn't terribly easy however. The first Max mode combo involving her EX ranbu takes very strict timing to land, and those cr. B into hcb B combos are ridiculously difficult. Thankfully you don't need to learn them; but I included them in case. What can be difficult to do as Luong that you need to know is her j. qcb BD in her Max combos. This can be tricky; honestly i just hold up-forward and just hope my timing is good. Be careful to complete the entire qcb motion; I tend to mess up at the db position.

It's also important to note that starting with cl. D xx f. B or just cl. D does make a difference. hcb D travels quite far, and if it hits near the end of hit, Luong actually gets more time to juggle, though she'll be further away from her opponent. cl. D xx f. B creates that distance for Luong, allowing her to combo into qcf A at midscreen, but not hcb B, as she'll be too far. That is why i sometimes start combos with cl. D alone or cl. D xx f. B. Note that cl. C (1) xx f. B is interchangeable with a lone cl. D.

Although her damage output falls in higher meter usage, I still recommend her as either a 2nd or a 3rd, as having access to her EX ranbu more often is powerful for her.
