Not really, but it can be somewhat of a substitute, maybe?

Today I try out a decently recent character. Vile (or Vava for you traditionalist) by Ayumu Sekijo is quite an interesting character to play. Just like the Vile that most know from the Megaman (Rockman) X series, his trademarks are his wide assortment of weaponry. This MUGEN conversion is no different. He has a rapid fire shot, his shoulder cannons, a rocket punch, and bombs that come out of his knee caps. To go the extra step, it even comes with his even more famous Ride Armor as a super, but I'll get to that in a moment as it has its flaws. Speaking of which, here's what I've observed from playing him:

-He's very cumbersome. He tends to react very slowly to attack and recover.
-He has a double jump, but also has infinite dashing.
-He's not combo friendly. You can probably get about 5-6 hits max even with a super as it is chainable.
-Some of his projectiles completely goes through other projectiles, though this has not been fully tested against "super move" calibur projectiles. This mostly affects his horizontal heavy shoulder cannon shot and his Super shoulder cannon.
-Speaking of his shoulder cannons, his light shot has a pretty large hitstun when it connects.
-His Ride Armor is similar to super armor and has an obscene amount of power before it is destroyed and can act as invincibility for Vile. Having this out for so long can cause balance problems as it is possible to quickly end a match the Ride Armor as the hits it makes are pretty heavy. It's too much for a level two super.
-He has a Hadouken for a level three super that pales in comparison to having the ride armor as a level two. The two supers should be switched as a result.

This version of Vile is actually pretty tough to use with all its options or lack thereof. However, it can use a bit of tweeking to balance itself out. (Don't ask about CLNs, seeing green all over the place makes me a bit cautious.) I'll give it a borderline pass, but I think more work is needed on it (i.e. giving projectiles less priority over other projectiles and lowering the amount of time/energy for the Ride Armor; that or make it a level three super).

As for his opponent, MvC2 Zero by DarkCipherLucius is a pretty good improvement over its source creation, Maverick Hunter Zero. It was pretty tough to fight against it, especially since I was getting used to the moveset and showing them off. It was an interesting experience. Oh, on a minor note, the winpose audio needs to be a bit cleaner.

Stage: Central Highway (Megaman X)
BGM: Vile's Stage Theme (Maverick Hunter X)

=============================
Vucious' Random Rant: If you think about it, this might be the "nth" time Zero has lost and/or died in a Megaman X setup either in or out of context.
