In this video, Maniac Mansion, released in 1989 for the Atari ST by Lucasfilm Games.
The first SCUMM adventure that I have played back in the days, was Maniac Mansion with its revolutionary point-and-click interface and its dark humor. Fifteen action commands are at our disposal to solve the many puzzles and complete the game. We start the game by choosing two out of six characters to accompany Dave Miller in its quest to rescue and free his kidnapped girlfriend Sandy Pantz: Bernard, Jeff, Michael, Razor, Syd, and Wendy, each one possessing unique abilities. The game may be completed with any combination of characters; but, since many puzzles are solvable only by certain characters, different paths must be taken based on the group's composition.
After the intro shows us a meteor crashing near the Edison family mansion twenty years earlier and we have decided which friends will help the protagonist, the game begins as Dave Miller prepares to enter the aforementioned mansion owned by Fred Edison, a mad scientist, his wife Nurse Edna, their son Weird Ed. and two large tentacles.
When a character dies or is imprisoned, the player must continue with the remaining of the three selected characters; the game obviously ends if all characters are killed. Maniac Mansion has five possible endings, based on which characters are chosen, which survive, and what the characters accomplish.
Graphically superb, with awesome animated sprites, the game also sports a good chiptune and sound fx. Due to the good plot story and its dark humor the playability is top, especially for the fact that you can replay the game with other characters to see all the possible endings.

All footage taken from original hardware machines and upscaled to 1080P.

Let me know what do you think about the video in the comments below but, most important, Enjoy!!!
