Mario Bros. (NES) Playthrough - NintendoComplete
A playthrough of Nintendo's 1985 NES game, Mario Bros.
I played to Phase 21, and stopped once I got a game over. The stages repeat in a loop (with the only difference being the increase of enemy speed in the higher rounds), so I didn't see any need in playing further.
This was one of the head-turners when the NES was first released, showing that the console had the power to play arcade ports at near the fidelity in graphics and sound as their coin-munching originals - a huge feat by 1985 standards.
There were several versions of this released over the years - several of which were on the NES itself (the Japanese disk game that featured food advertisements, the "classic" PAL edition, and the bonus game in Super Mario Bros. 3), along with the pseudo-sequels: Mario Bros. Special and Punch-Ball Mario Bros. were both released as Japanese PC exclusives by Hudson, and for the Virtual Boy, Mario Clash. The original game apparently was created with some impressively resilient udders.
