Mario Kart 64 - Star Cup 100cc
0The Star Cup in Mario Kart 64 is where I find things to be a little bit more difficult, as the tracks for the Star Cup are Wario Stadium, Sherbet Land, Royal Raceway, and Bowser's Castle. Wario Stadium being the second longest track in the game, and there is Bowser's Castle, which is the track I tend to have the most difficulty with because of the Thwomps, and I didn't realize that in this game, the Red Shells don't follow the road, so if the racer is in 1st place and is way far ahead, this might be due to how I am more used to the more recent Mario Kart games, and I did play Mario Kart 8 Deluxe shortly before the release of Nintendo Switch Online, which included Mario Kart 64 as one of the Nintendo 64 games.
I play as Bowser in 100cc, and he is the heaviest character in the game, heavyweight characters usually have the highest top speed in the game, but they have very low acceleration and handling, and one advantage heavyweight characters have is that if they make contact with a lightweight character like Toad, it will cause them to spin out.
I remember there was a rumour about the green Thwomp that is locked behind a cage in Bowser's Castle, who was given the name "Marty", and there were rumours that he can be unlocked as a playable character, but there is no data on it, and there are no unlockable characters in this game, the first game where you would unlock characters in the Mario Kart series was Mario Kart: Double Dash!!, and it wouldn't be easy to have a Thwomp be a playable character, as it doesn't have arms and I am not sure how that thing would drive a car if it has no hands.
