To tie in with the release of Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl, I chose the Pokémon for this week, and I decided to do a Pokémon that was introduced in Generation 4 for Surprise Trade, so I chose Gible.
I breed for 31 IVs in at least 4 or 5 stats, or in rare cases, some can have 31 IVs in all 6 stats. These Gible have a Jolly Nature and have the Hidden Ability of Rough Skin, Sand Veil is usable, but I prefer Rough Skin on Gible. It can work with either Jolly or Adamant, as its best stat is Attack, and it has a good Speed stat.
The Egg Moves for Gible are Twister, Metal Claw, Double-Edge, and Thrash, those are the ones it gets in Sword & Shield, in Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl, it can get Outrage and Iron Head for breeding moves. I will list which parents in the Monster and Dragon Egg Groups that can learn those moves.
Double-Edge: Bulbasaur, Ivysaur, Venusaur, Cubone, Marowak, A-Marowak, Aron, Lairon, Aggron, Bagon, Shelgon, Salamence, Bergmite, Avalugg, Drakloak, Dragapult
Metal Claw: Aron, Lairon, Aggron, Druddigon, Duraludon
Thrash: Cubone, Marowak, A-Marowak, Gyarados, Larvitar, Pupitar, Tyranitar, Tyrunt, Tyrantrum
Twister: Horsea, Seadra, Gyarados, Dratini, Dragonair, Dragonite, Milotic, Drampa, Flapple

Its Sword & Shield Egg Moves are kind of a bit underwhelming, but are nice to breed onto other Pokémon in its Egg Group.
Then to go over Gible's moves, and I will mainly be going over its Sword & Shield moves, as I have not tried to see if they can trade with Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl yet, I don't think it will. Gible evolves into Gabite at Level 24, and at Level 48, it will evolve into Garchomp. For Level up moves, it can get Sand Tomb, Tackle, Sand Attack, Dragon Breath, Bulldoze, Bite, Slash, Dragon Claw, Dig, Sandstorm, Take Down, and Dragon Rush. With evolution moves, Gabite learns Dual Chop, and Garchomp learns Crunch, and its level up moves haven't changed in Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl, but Dragon Claw and Earthquake are all you will need when using Garchomp in the main game.
Next is TM and TR moves, and I am going over what Garchomp can get in Sword & Shield, and it is mainly about Garchomp's moves, as there are some moves its pre-evolved forms cannot learn. It can learn Rock Slide, Whirlpool, Brick Break, Rock Tomb, Mud Shot, Fire Fang, Bulldoze, False Swipe, Brutal Swing, Stomping Tantrum, and Breaking Swipe, and for TRs, it can learn Swords Dance, Flamethrower, Earthquake, Surf, Fire Blast, Outrage, Iron Tail, Poison Jab, Dragon Pulse, Earth Power, Iron Head, Stone Edge, and Stealth Rock, and for Tutor moves, it can get Draco Meteor, Scale Shot, and Scorching Sands.
Garchomp's competitive history is very interesting, this Pokémon got banned to Ubers in Gen 4, and it was the first non-Legendary Pokémon to ever be in the Uber tier, but it wasn't the only one, because Salamence got banned to Ubers later in the generation. Garchomp's main set for online battles is Dragon Claw and Earthquake for its main moves, or Outrage for its main Dragon-type move, while Stone Edge and Iron Head fill in for its coverage moves. Garchomp can even use Scale Shot to increase its Speed so that way it can outspeed a bunch of threats, and it is a powerful Dynamax user after using Scale Shot.
Garchomp can work in either Single or Double Battles, it can use Stomping Tantrum for an alternate Ground-type move to hit a single target, and Rock Slide is preferred so it can hit both targets in a Double Battle, and Dragon Claw is preferred over Outrage, because with Outrage, it is random which opponent you will hit, and you will end up doing damage to the wrong opponent.
Garchomp can work with many different sets, it can be a decent Mixed Attacker to surprise its opponents, so it can have Fire Blast to hit any Skarmory attempting to wall it, or Draco Meteor to deal some damage to any opponent that are expecting a Physical move from it, but I wouldn't say it's as good as Salamence or Dragapult as a Mixed Attacker.
As with Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl, with the limited Pokédex, from what I have read, it's only every Pokémon from Generations 1 to 4, and there will be no Mega Evolutions, Alolan Forms, or Galarian Forms. I am sure Garchomp will work how it used to back in Gen 4, the difference is the Fairy-type, which Pokémon like Clefable and Togekiss now have, so Garchomp will have to fit in Iron Head or Poison Jab as a way to handle Fairy-type opponents, and there is no Dynamax in Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl, but I do wonder if Sword & Shield will get an update where they will bring back the missing Pokémon from Generations 1 to 4 at some point.
