Marvel Super Heroes, 1995 Capcom (20 From '95 Part 4)
3MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY HOLIDAYS FOLKS!!! Curl up with loved ones, open presents and guzzle eggnog! And enjoy this video too if you like. This involves the 4th game in my 20 From 1995 series, and it's one of the better vs. fighting games in the genre's history. It features great renditions of Marvel Comics characters-- Blackheart, Thanos (the final boss), Dr. Doom, Magneto, Captain America, Shuma Gorath, Hulk, Wolverine, Iron Man, Juggernaut, Spider-Man, and Psylocke. This game is based on the "Infinity Gauntlet" storyline in Marvel Comics. The Infinity Gems can be used to augment your abilities and add a special move or two to your arsenal! To use a gem's power you must attack (doesn't have to connect) enough to fill the power meter once. Then press down/down-back and back and 3 punch buttons (there are 3 punch and 3 kick buttons, regular/strong/fierce). The gems have different abilities and colors: Red-Time (move faster), Green-Soul (regain some energy), Yellow- Reality (Fire projectiles with each attack), Blue- Mind (Refill power meter fast), Another Red- Power (nearly double strength of attacks), and Purple-Space (stronger defense). To use a special move from the gem power, you must fill the power meter THREE TIMES. Lame, I know. But then an infinity symbol will appear next to your power meter and you can use an INFINITY COMBO, which will cause massive damage and looks really cool! The stronger attacks in the game usually require a move with the joystick and a press of multiple buttons at once, often being 2 or 3 of the punch or kick buttons. If you're good at combos in fighting games this is the game for you! If not, well.. you better learn how to use the gems to your advantage! Such great rendition of the comic book character dynamics is my favorite aspect of this game, but learning the nuances of the gems is also a strong selling point. Great fun and great eye candy!
