Mass Effect 3 (Gameplay #8) - Multiverse At War
The online co-operative wave-based mode in Mass Effect 3 is...alright. Compared to a recent co-op shooter such as Syndicate or the similar gameplay in Gears of War 3's Horde mode or Halo's Firefights it's really not much to write home about, but it absolutely works for what it is. Given that the combat is generally faster and the controls more responsive than in ME2 the online gameplay doesn't feel unnaturally tacked on as far as the actual mechanics go, but given the merciless competition within the online subgenre I don't see a lot of people continuing to play the game primarily because of the multiplayer. And I certainly wouldn't want any of the inevitable DLC to be solely focused on adding more MP content (a small and cheap weapon pack or two is OK but I doubt anyone would actually care about that either).
