Mass Effect 3 (Gameplay #9) - Massive Attack
Mass Effect 3 doesn't change anything radical about the combat compared to its immediate predecessor in the series - but the snappier animations, shorter power cooldowns, quicker health regeneration and more useful melee attacks are all aspects which contribute to a noticeably more fast-paced overall gameplay experience. Also, the design of the combat encounters and behavior of the enemy AI seem a lot more focused on putting the player in situations where there is clear risk of being outflanked; making it vital to keep a good overview of battlefield and avoid camping leisurely behind cover as you could far too often do in ME1 and ME2. One thing I really dislike is that the incoming grenades are far too easy to miss despite onscreen indicators and sound cues, and ME2 combat's tendency to drag on forever has unfortunately not been addressed at all.
