Mavericks 3: Zero's Revenge is the third in a series of three (soon to be four I believe) rpg fangames created by Sigmav set in the Megaman X universe.

Last maverick to send packing who's the only other main boss from the Mega Man Zero series seen up to this point (Mino Magnus from Mavericks 1 was the other one).

Enemy wise, well...Fefnir + Mega Blast = Dead enemy groups (And will continue to equal dead enemy groups until the endgame stages for the record).

Also interesting to note about this level...unless it's really well hidden, I could not find a battlefield in this entire stage.

That being said, the mid boss, well...Fefnir remarks that it looks weak. He's right because this mid boss is an absolute joke of a fight. It has not one single attack that can hit all my characters and its damage isn't concerning in the slightest. As if to prove my point, said boss focused literally all but like 2-3 attacks onto Fefnir, meaning I had to heal all of one time during this fight.

Right after the mid boss, if you head to the end of the platform and air dash to the west, you'll stumble onto another capsule which, if you've gotten the last three (Gemini Man, Izzy Glow, Dynamo Man), will make the Ultimate X Armor complete and turn X into a completely broken unit for the rest of the game. I'm not doing that yet to preserve some level of challenge.

As for the main boss of this stage...Tretista Kelverian is the karmic counterbalance to that pathetic mid boss as he can be rather nasty. Part of that is his attacks. All of them hit every party member and they range from 500-600 fixed damage dealt depending on the move used.

The other significant threat...he's fast. Not Cyber Peacock from Mavericks 2 levels of fast, but fast enough that he could feasibly get 2 turns on everyone, even Fefnir, if the battle lasted long enough. That means there's several moments where I have to play defensively and wait with a character's action so I can fire off a heal right after an attack.

As for attacks, Blizzard Wave for X & Zero when they aren't needing to toss a heal while Fefnir spams Mega Blast. A tough fight, but one where nobody went down at the very least.

Kelverian Sword is your skill reward here. Hits all targets, is effective on junk enemies. Costs 50 WE to use.

With the second set of mavericks down, Sigma Palace is now available, hopefully without any interruptions by certain past villains this time around.
