Mavericks 3: Zero's Revenge is the third in a series of three (soon to be four I believe) rpg fangames created by Sigmav set in the Megaman X universe.

Did an off screen hunting session. Basically, any stage with enemies that could drop Energy Tanks or WE Tanks had whatever groups contained said enemies nuked on the spot, resulting in some level ups across the board.

Anyways, time to get cracking on all the levels on Planet Maverick. There are five levels to choose from, each one containing two Doc Bot fights. There's souped up enemies from previous stages to fight as well, but...

A. They do not provide any more experience than their weaker versions.

B. Fefnir STILL one shots enemy groups with Mega Blast (And will continue to do so for the first five stages on this planet).

Not that hard to navigate through this level so let's talk about the bosses. Each Doc Bot copy the abilities of a maverick from the previous game. Those guys just can't catch a break, eh?

First fight in this stage is against a Doc Bot mimicking Web Spider. If you played the previous game, you'll have a good idea of what kind of attacks to expect from each fight.

In this case, you'll see Super Spark (Hits everyone, 800-1150 damage), Mini Spider (Hits one target, 900-1300 damage), or Web Spark (~800-900 damage, may inflict paralysis). Super Spark is the worst simply because everyone's getting hit by it and the boss is quick enough to make that a threat, especially if it spams the move over several turns. The rest, not so much, just have Paralyze Tanks available to remove paralysis if it hits.

As for its weakness, use Glow Laser.

Second boss mimics...Jet Stingray. Oh dammit, really?

Jet Stingray is famous for one move...Vacuum. It'll do ~1000+ damage to a single target and transfer that back into its own hp pool. Considering the boss is reasonably fast, this can turn the fight into a complete standstill if it gets spammed over and over.

Yet...it never once used Vacuum during this fight. I'm not sure what god I pleased when I recorded this because I always saw it several times during my test runs, but I'm not complaining.

The other attacks on display are all single target attacks. Only Torpedo Fish & Double Spin do any noticeable damage, hitting for anywhere from 1000-1600 damage, depending on the move used (Torpedo Fish is a bit stronger).

For hitting the boss's weakness, use Shark Hook.

More next time!
