Maximum Progress (Medals) With 1 Prosperity Point (1/5, Digimon World Challenge)
This is a very different type of challenge to any other that I've done for this game. This is a challenge where I try to make as much progress as possible while only recruiting Agumon; a challenge where I try to make the maximum amount of progress with just 1 Prosperity Point. I don't think that it's possible to make it beyond the Native Forest without recruiting Agumon, and that's why this isn't a challenge where I aim to maximise progress with 0 Prosperity Points. I refer to the medals when I talk about progress; the objective of this challenge is to see how many medals I can earn under these restrictions.
There are 15 medals in total:
Medal for defeating the final boss; Machinedramon.
Medal for reaching 100 Prosperity Points.
Medal for Digivolving to every Digimon.
Medal for learning every Technique.
Medal for reaching maximum Stats.
Medal for getting every Digimon Card.
Medal for reaching maximum money.
Medal for catching 100 fish.
Medal for getting the perfect score in Curling.
Medal that you get once 10 years have passed.
Medal for 100 Championship Wins at the Arena Tournament.
Medal for winning every Grade Tournament.
Medal for winning every Version Tournament.
Medal for winning every Nature Tournament.
Medal for winning every Special Tournament.
Since I can't recruit any Digimon other than Agumon, I would think that it's self explanatory that some of these medals are not going to be obtainable in this challenge. However, there are some medals which surely will be achievable, as well as some medals which might be achievable.
I began the challenge by answering Jijimon's questions so that Agumon would be my starting Digimon. I defeated the opposing Agumon at the Native Forest so that I'd have the benefit of the Item Bank, plus the ability to explore other areas of the game. I defeated the Drimogemon at the Drill Tunnel and spoke to the other Drimogemon so that the Lava Cave would become available 5 days later. I had the Coelamon take me to the Tropical Jungle. While there I had my character acknowledge the Digimon Bridge so that it would be permanently possible to get from the Digimon Bridge to the Tropical Jungle. I then prioritised training, and Digivolved from Agumon to Greymon. I went to the Lava Cave and challenged Meramon. It's not possible to make further progress with the Lava Cave without defeating Meramon, but defeating Meramon would mean recruiting him. Therefore I didn't defeat Meramon; I intentionally lost to him instead. I did this in the interest of being able to get from the Native Forest to Mt Panorama; the scene with Meramon before you fight him results in the boulders getting cleared, enabling you to get from the Native Forest to Mt Panorama.
I visited the Trash Mountain and helped myself to the Old Rod. I defeated Otamamon at the Geko Swamp so that the Volume Villa would be available to me. From purchasing Medium HPs from the Gear Savanna Shop and trading them for Super Defense Disks from the Mojyamons in Freezeland, I was able to sell the Super Defense Disks at Gear Savanna for a substantial profit and purchase more Medium HPs. I also purchased some Digimon Cards and got the Amazing Rod from ShogunGekomon. I caught 100 fish from the Dragon Eye Lake, consisting of 99 DigiAnchovies and 1 Black Trout. This earned me my first medal; the medal for catching 100 fish. The DigiAnchovies and Black Trout were traded with Mojyamons in exchange for items that sold for a large sum of money. I entered the Ice Sanctuary but only to collect the items that are there. I defeated Garurumon once at Freezeland but only for the HP Chip. I Digivolved from Greymon to SkullGreymon. Before Digivolving, I learnt Heat Laser, Fire Tower, Magma Bomb and Red Inferno from battles. Spit Fire came naturally with Agumon, and Sonic Jab came naturally with SkullGreymon.
SkullGreymon is a Digimon who you can enter Grey Lord's Mansion with. Because of this I took the opportunity to loot Grey Lord's Mansion. From repeatedly trading Medium HPs for Super Defense Disks and selling the Super Defense Disks, I eventually reached 999,999 Bits and was presented with the medal for maxing out on money. I also purchased 99 HiSpeed Disks and traded them for 99 Medicines, which I held onto. I got Mojyamon's Digivolution Item (Hair Grower) from trading a Happy Mushroom. I bought every single obtainable Digimon Card from the Gear Savanna Shop but didn't get a medal since I didn't have the card for Machinedramon. It won't be possible to get Machinedramon's Card in this challenge, and it therefore won't be possible to get the medal for getting every Digimon Card. I decided to keep one copy of each Digimon Card and sell the spares to ShogunGekomon. I used the Merit Points to purchase the Digivolution Items for Seadramon (Water Bottle) and Shellmon (Red Shell). I didn't want to stop there but I ran out of space in my inventory. A separate objective of mine was to try and learn the Battle Techniques by fighting Digimon.
