Maximum Progress (Medals) Without Digivolving (Digimon World Challenge)
This is a challenge for Digimon World where I see how many medals can be earned before your starting Digimon Digivolves. You begin the game with either Agumon or Gabumon. Rookie Digimon can Digivolve after 3 days if they Digivolve to a natural Champion. If you don't fulfil enough requirements in order for a Rookie to Digivolve naturally then it will Digivolve to Numemon once 4 days have elapsed. This means that I have a maximum of 4 days to get any obtainable medals. I included a rule which states that I'm not allowed to fade away or lose any lives, as that could enable me to delay Digivolutions.
I started the game with Agumon, and I ensured that I didn't fulfil enough of the requirements in order for Agumon to Digivolve naturally; this way I had 4 days instead of 3. I also generally didn't let Agumon sleep so that I had more time to devote to trying to earn medals. I recruited Agumon, Palmon, Kunemon, Betamon, Coelamon and Bakemon so that I had enough Prosperity Points in order for Yuramon to mention about the invisible bridge, thus granting me access to the Great Canyon. Betamon and Coelamon were also useful for the Item Shop that they start up. Kunemon was useful for the shortcut that he creates leading from the City to the Digimon Bridge. He was also useful for the Item Chip that he drops after you defeat him in battle, same with Palmon. Agumon was an unavoidable recruit, although his Item Bank did come in handy. I defeated Otamamon so that I had access to the Volume Villa, and I purchased the Amazing Rod with Merit Points that came from Digimon Cards.
I was successful with achieving the medal for catching 100 fish.
I used the Amazing Rod to catch 99 DigiAnchovies and 1 BlackTrout.
I was successful with achieving the medal for maxing out on money.
The 100 fish that I caught were traded with the Mojyamons in Freezeland in exchange for items that sold for a combined sum of 200,000 Bits. I also repeatedly purchased 99 Medium HPs and traded them for 99 Super Defense Disks which were sold at a large profit. 99 Medium HPs cost 49500 Bits, whereas 99 Super Defense Disks sell for 198,000 Bits. This creates a profit of 148,500 per cycle.
I was successful with achieving the medal for getting a score of 10 in Curling.
When I defeated Penguinmon at Curcling in Freezeland I made sure that I got a score of 10. I saved just before speaking to Penguinmon and I would reset if I didn't get a score of 10 when playing against him.
I was successful with achieving the medal for maxing out on stats.
I caught 939 BlackTrouts from the Dragon Eye Lake and fed them to Agumon which resulted in his stats reaching the maximum. I fed the BlackTrouts to Agumon at the Dino Region where time goes more slowly; this enabled me to reach maximum stats before the 4 days had elapsed. Force-feeding Agumon did cause his Happiness and Discipline to reach the minimum. This would've resulted in the butterfly showing up and causing Agumon's stats to fall. Therefore, I made Agumon sick with DigiSeaBasses to stop the butterfly from appearing. Obviously I did have to cure the sickness to stop Agumon from losing a life, and I'd then make him sick again to keep the butterfly away.
I don't believe that any of the 11 other medals are obtainable in a challenge like this. I say that because I believe that I would be faced with the following problems:
Speaking to Jijimon to try and create the opportunity to battle Greymon will only work if your own Digimon is a Champion or Ultimate when you speak to Jijimon. This means that I can't create the opportunity to battle Greymon if my own Digimon is Agumon. This rules out the 100 Prosperity Points Medal, as well as all 5 of the Tournament Medals.
The rules with trying to create the opportunity to battle Airdramon work the same way as the rules with trying to create the opportunity to battle Greymon. This meant that I couldn't earn the Final Boss Medal as Mt Infinity is off-limits unless you defeat Airdramon. This also meant that the Card Medal couldn't be achieved either; one of the Digimon Cards (Machinedramon Card) can only be obtained by defeating Machinedramon.
The Techniques Medal can't be earned because Agumon can't learn all 56 Techniques by himself.
The Digivolutions Medal can't be earned because Digivolving isn't allowed in this challenge.
The 10 Year Medal can't be earned because there's no way of going 10 years without Digivolving or fading away.
