The Jagermech JM6-DD is a great mech for ballistic weapons, because you have 6 slots to experiment with. The machine guns greatly add to the firepower of a mech, but many people complain about the lack of damage each machine gun actually does. Nevertheless, if you group the machine guns with light cannons and small lasers, you get a pretty lethal combination. The machine guns can't strip armor, but they can do massive internal damage after the heavier weapons strip the armor off.

I think the autocannon 2 and the machine guns make a perfect mix, because both are rapid fire weapons. In addition, they don't generate much heat, and by coupling 2 small lasers you get a very high volume of fire. I love the machine gun and cannon combo, for it reminds me of World War 2 simulators where you use them together to do some serious damage. The machine guns also aid your aiming, because where the bullets impact is where you place your shots with heavier weapons. In World War 2 simulators, you use the machine guns in this fashions, because you don't carry many cannon rounds.

This mod is for engaging enemies at very close range; although, a autocannon 2 is a long range weapon, but you have to use them with machine guns to make it work. I think this configuration works better than the autocannon 10 coupled with the machine guns, because you can add two autocannon 2s which has an excellent rate of fire. The smaller autocannons can keep up with the machine guns, and you can show an awesome display of firepower.

When I played Mechwarrior 2, I used a configuration with 10 to 15 machine guns, and I was able to decimate the largest assault mechs in seconds. As time passed and never versions of Mechwarriors came out that option wasn't possible, because they changed the rules of the game. In Mechwarrior Online, the machine gun did even less damage than in Mechwarrior 1 to Mechwarrior 4. In Mechwarrior 4, the machine did 2 points of damage, and in this game it does 0.1 point of damage. The trade off was, you get more ammunition in Mechwarrior online. In the old Mechwarrior games, you got 200 rounds per ton for the machinegun, and in Mechwarrior Online you get 2000 rounds per ton.

The mod I showed on this video was the best I ever made on this model. I can stand up to assault mechs toe to toe, and the firepower enables me to do that. I also added 422 points of armor which enables this mech to survival brutal engagements.
