Medal of Honor (2010) - permanent slo-mo glitch
5Just something silly I noticed while casually replaying parts of this game. Played on the unpatched PS3-version.
If you retry while in the special stabbing ("backstab") animation, the game will be in slow motion afterwards. I don't know why exactly, but it can be done consistently at any checkpoint where there are other characters around.
At first I thought this glitch only started when getting a game over from friendly fire, as seen in the first clip - I thought that, perhaps, for his treacherous deed, the gods cursed Rabbit by making him sense everything in slow motion for the rest of his days, giving him plenty of time to think about his misdeeds? ...But no, the glitch happens every time regardless of who you stab, as long as you are in that special stabbing animation when you retry.
The slow motion will stay on indefinitely. It will only end if you quit or restart a mission. Some checkpoints also seem to fix this glitch. You apparently can't overlap multiple slow motions.
Being in slow motion doesn't help with dodging bullets, but it does in practice enhance your reflexes and thus lowers the difficulty of the game.
1:07 - while messing around, I noticed a minor height gaining technique. If you stab someone who is climbing, your main character also keeps rising up during that time. You can then do a jump at the top of the climb. But it doesn't seem too useful so far. Maybe it should be called "backstab high jump"?
1:23 - in-game cutscenes look pretty funny in pointless slo-mo.
3:05 - in the first level, the glitch finally ended by itself upon reaching the final checkpoint.
(Not on the vid: if you restarted the glitch at this checkpoint, then breached the door, the game speed would once again fix itself in time for the dramatic slow motion of the breach.)
3:28 - a stylish firefight in slo-mo. You can become a one-man army while in slow motion...
