Siren - compilation of (theoretical) early Mission 2
Happy holidays...?
Even though I didn't plan to glitch all that much in December, I got sidetracked into doing some research in Siren... and here are the results.
Just out of curiosity, I went around the game and used cheats - namely, changing your character's coordinates - to access some new areas in the levels. In the process, I also wanted to see if it was possible to do Mission 2 early somewhere in the game. And surprisingly enough, it WAS possible!
Eight of the game's levels feature a Mission 2 that is possible to complete during Mission 1 already if you could just get past some physical barrier or two that's in the way. But since the walls are extremely tough in Siren, there is no way to do any of this without cheats. At least so far... Perhaps early Mission 2 will become reality some day as new glitches are found out.
Doing Mission 2 early will send you to the alternative path out of the level like you'd expect. The Link Navigator cutscenes are a bit glitched and lack some graphics, but generally things work out fine.
Since the level structure of Siren is so bizarre, doing Mission 2 early wouldn't be a guarantee of any actual big sequence break. But it would give some flexibility to the overall route, so it doesn't hurt to know this stuff exists.
In case you're curious what that weird "bop" sound is every now and then, I added a sound effect for whenever a character teleports.

The levels are in rough order of appearance in the game:
0:00 - Kyoya Day 1 - 02-00
1:21 - Akira Day 1 - 08-00
2:13 - Kyoya Day 2 - 01-00
3:15 - Tamon Day 2 - 18-00
4:16 - Shiro Day 2 - 00-00
5:31 - Harumi Day 2 - 15-00
6:45 - Kei Day 3 - 12-00
7:49 - Kyoya Day 2 - 20-00
I made a more extensive list of all the levels in Siren and why early Mission 2 does or does not work in them on the Speedrun forums, so read it here if you're interested:

Played on PCSX2.
Thanks to Shiro_Siren (?) for the fastest tactic of escaping Harumi's Day 2 - 15-00. It was fun to give it a try. Also for translating the forum post at Speedrun.
