Mega Man X5 (Zero) PSX, No Damage challenge/speedrun of Izzy Glow's stage on Xtreme Mode. In this playthrough, I achieve the MMH/MEH rank in the end.

I have the Mega Man X5 Improvement patch applied, which I mainly used to shut Alia up. You can download the patch here: https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/3711/

More details: In this no damage run, I'm not using Zero's SDC (Saber Dash Cancel) and instead am using other cancel techniques, such as crouch and jump cancels. It's very similar to SDC, just that it requires more finger work with the D-pad and is more technical than SDC. If you want to learn more about the techniques I use during this run, watch this video: https://youtu.be/rfPZxWnpSbs

Stage Overview:

So, not going to talk much about the first half of Dark Dizzy's stage. It's really devoid of any interest and it's a huge drag. Since we can't fly like Falcon Armor X, we have to wait for the platforms to make their way over. But since the bats appear at fixed intervals, there's really nothing to stress over here. It's just boring. The second half of the stage finally sees more action, but... not necessarily in a good way. Certain points of the stage forces you to meet a complete halt (or at least slowed momentum) just because the little turret enemies decided they want to shoot before you even scroll them on-screen. So, you really have to be careful at certain points. The enemy placement in general is kind of all over the place, and it's like they just decided, "Heeeeey! Let's just stuff a bunch of sh*t in select spots because why not". So it forces you to either F-Splasher through them to make it a non-issue, slowly pick them off, or just a combo of Twin Dream + F-Slasher to trash the second. This stage is a prime example of why those two special attacks alone are heavily underestimated, and if it wasn't for X6's stupid Guard Shell glitch, X5 Zero would easily be the most broken iteration of him.

Dark Dizzy Overview:

...Lol. Get this idiot outta here.

Seriously, only thing to worry about is whether or not he'll dive down to bite you (which most of the time, he won't). He moves across the screen based on RNG, but with how slow he is, does that even matter?

Number of attempts to No Damage this stage: 49
