56Happy New Year, y'all. This is basically me talking about what to expect from the channel this year, and generally just letting you know how things will operate. Thanks for watching, and I hope 2020 will be a great year... unlike the last two that were less than ideal.
Lemme clarify something about the COPPA situation, though. Every youtuber is freaking out about, "OMG, $42,000 fine! This is the end".
No. It's. Not.
Watch a guy named KreeCraft. He's got the low down, but long story short, NO, not everyone will receive that fee. The FTC establishes how much money a video made, then base the fee on that. So, logically speaking, if you make ZERO dollars, they can't just magically pop a number out of nowhere. Even if you're monetized, they are not going to bankrupt you. They'll fine you based on what you can afford. 42k is the MAXIMUM. Only big youtubers would even get close to that number, but they make so much that it shouldn't even dent them that much. They aren't gonna go on a channel witch hunt; they'll go after people who make BLATANT offenses of the law.
Stop letting these other creators continue this fear mongering, and do research. This is directed to those creators who were dumb enough to quit their channel and delete ALL their videos. Calm down, y'all... for real.
