Mega Man Zero 4: Craft (No Damage Challenge Run)
481Mega Man Zero 4, no damage walkthrough of the Aera Zero Invasion intermission (Craft). This challenge playthrough is ran on a New Game+ Ultimate Mode file. Most of Ultimate's perks aren't being used - it's mostly ran just for cosmetics (AKA why my color palette is so much more red than default Zero), as Ultimate has the same difficulty as normal mode. I'm only using Hacker Elf level 2 and Animal Elf level 1 for the entire run. This NG+ file also does not have anything but the Rolling Chip unlocked (which activates the Rolling Slashes). All EX Skills will be earned naturally through my no damage run's routing. In case you need it reiterated here, this is the challenge run's specifications and rules:
-No Damage (Duh)
-No Charge Attacks (This includes buster EX Skills.)
-100 points on EVERY mission.
-No Buster Shot (Not even lemons.)
-No Junk Armor (This chip combination gives double damage, so bosses will survive a little longer from combos.)
-No Double Jump (Final stage is excluded. I'm free to use it there... because it's boring as heck in the boss rush without it.)
Area Zero Intermission (Craft) Analysis:
Not much of anything to reiterate here. Video says just about all of it, but let me get into Craft a little more in-depth here. I said in the video that he's not cheap with his RNG; I stand by that entirely, and he's on the list of bosses I'm going to make a strategy guide for at some point. Regardless, one of the most trickiest things to deal with is his rolls. He can do it at ANY moment's notice, so you really have to have some good reaction time to not get crossed up by the guy. I'm just lucky RNG wasn't too mean and he didn't roll like 3 or more times in a row that he's infamous for. Craft really do be fighting you like a damn fighting game with his little mix-up game, lol. I'm sure the two times he rolled in the fight here, you could visibly see me go into a slight panic because of how unexpected it is. It helps that his hitbox is disabled during this, so you really need to rely on your reaction time (as well as know how to regain your composure immediately after it happens, so you won't run into him).
Personally, I say as a boss on his own, and not counting difficulty merged from stage traversal, the guy's easily the hardest fight in the game, simply because of how much mobility you're expected to maintain; as well as make sure you're always one step ahead of him. Gets even wilder in his re-fight. He does have very noticeable A.I. differences there. Considering the huge majority of this game's bosses are a joke, it's refreshing that as one of the main antagonists, he's challenging enough to fit that role.
