Mega Man Zero 4: Fenri Lunaedge (No Damage Challenge Run)
466Mega Man Zero 4, no damage walkthrough of Fenri Lunaedge's stage. This challenge playthrough is ran on a New Game+ Ultimate Mode file. Most of Ultimate's perks aren't being used - it's mostly ran just for cosmetics (AKA why my color palette is so much more red than default Zero), as Ultimate has the same difficulty as normal mode. I'm only using Hacker Elf level 2 and Animal Elf level 1 for the entire run. This NG+ file also does not have anything but the Rolling Chip unlocked (which activates the Rolling Slashes). All EX Skills will be earned naturally through my no damage run's routing. In case you need it reiterated here, this is the challenge run's specifications and rules:
-No Damage (Duh)
-No Charge Attacks (This includes buster EX Skills.)
-100 points on EVERY mission.
-No Buster Shot (Not even lemons.)
-No Junk Armor (This chip combination gives double damage, so bosses will survive a little longer from combos.)
-No Double Jump (Final stage is excluded. I'm free to use it there... because it's boring as heck in the boss rush without it.)
Fenri Lunaedge Analysis:
If you're reading this due to the call of action from the video, let me teach you how to make an absolute mockery of Fenri. As alluded to before, he's very vulnerable to visual cues that give away what he'll do. Since I knew how to take advantage of him, you're not able to really see it much. RNG determines his actions, like all bosses, so I'll break down the cues here.
One big cue that he'll dash all over the place via his wall kicks and ice waves is that he'll do a HUGE leap to the opposite end of the screen. I'm talking a jump that has him almost touching the ceiling. This is blatantly TELLING you he's about to do that attack. When he's ready to lunge at you, all you have to do is just jump over him with a dash jump via wall kicking from the opposite wall. Then when he wall kicks back to his original position, just simply follow him and hug the wall until he does the third attack. Trust me, it's not that hard to dodge when you expect it coming.
Another cue is when he'll jump to the opposite side again, but this time, the jump is reeeeeally low. That's signaling he's going to summon his ice clones. Wanna know how to deal with this? ....Just Flame Fang the clones and he'll fall right back down. There. Free combo, lol.
One more cue is when he'll lock onto your position with this mid-height jump. Think Quick Man's undodgeable jump from Mega Man 2, except you can actually dodge it, lol. There's some RNG move shuffling with a follow up after this jump, though. He'll either do one of the two attacks I explained above, a VERY quick counter stab, or that weird, invincible Sonic the Hedgehog spinball. Honestly, just jump away from him with a dash jump after an EX Skill combo, just in case he decides to counter attack.
