Mega Man Zero 4, no damage walkthrough of Heat Genblem's stage. This challenge playthrough is ran on a New Game+ Ultimate Mode file. Most of Ultimate's perks aren't being used - it's mostly ran just for cosmetics (AKA why my color palette is so much more red than default Zero), as Ultimate has the same difficulty as normal mode. I'm only using Hacker Elf level 2 and Animal Elf level 1 for the entire run. This NG+ file also does not have anything but the Rolling Chip unlocked (which activates the Rolling Slashes). All EX Skills will be earned naturally through my no damage run's routing. In case you need it reiterated here, this is the challenge run's specifications and rules:

-No Damage (Duh)
-No Charge Attacks (This includes buster EX Skills.)
-100 points on EVERY mission.
-No Buster Shot (Not even lemons.)
-No Junk Armor (This chip combination gives double damage, so bosses will survive a little longer from combos.)
-No Double Jump (Final stage is excluded. I'm free to use it there... because it's boring as heck in the boss rush without it.)

Heat Genblem Analysis:

Point 1 of the video I directed you to: those lasers, as stated, operate based on a cycle. From the moment you start the stage, those lasers will be firing. They're always active, so if you ever noticed in many runs of that stage that they don't fire at a consistent rate, that's why. You have to be super precise with your movements, or at the very least stay consistent enough to know the general time frame. If you don't make it there at a specific time or close to it, it's not the end of the world. You'll just have to wait it out for a few seconds before you can advance. Best way to track this is to make a countdown of how long it takes to generally get there. I BELIEVE the lasers reset if you scene skip the mini-boss, though I'm not 100% sure on that. Zero 4 in general patched out the RNG resets of scene skips, but considering the lasers aren't RNG, I'm sure that doesn't apply. So, countdown for the entire stage, just to be safe, OR start your countdown when you fight the mini-boss.

Now, point 2 I directed you to: Heat Genblem's patterns, like all bosses, are determined by RNG. You can't manipulate it like you can in Z3 with scene skip, as I alluded to before, so you're at it's mercy. Thankfully, even if you don't get the good RNG like I did in the video, he's not insanely tough, but not as easy to punish, either. He's most vulnerable during the curving flames you saw him do at the beginning, but he shuffles through his attacks so suddenly that you need good reaction time to capitalize on this opening. He also blocks any attack you throw at him if he doesn't do that attack, but he's got a few frames of vulnerability between attacks, before he attempts to block again. Here's a trick I can provide for you, though: if you attack him a few frames after he steps all the way back during a block, attack him again. You'll see the flames surge around his fists as a visual cue that he's ready to literally Shoryuken the hell outta you. If you're centered in the battle arena, just dash under the flames that emit from the uppercut, then start a combo as he lands. If you're lucky, he'll do the head flame attack again after landing. If not, rinse and repeat (though note that if he does a Shoryuken, he won't do it again. He'll just punch out a normal burst of flame you'll have to jump over).
