This Mega Man holds a special place for me. It was the only one I physically owned as a youth. Back in the day I could rip through the master robots without a single hit taken off me....my skills have clearly deteriorated a bit since.
As gamers, we all have a game or two that we could tear through almost perfectly as kids, if anything, to show off to our friends. Most kids in the early 90's just didn't have very many games. Your parents might get you one during Christmas, birthday, Easter, or after a good report card. You may save up your allowance for a few months and buy one, but games just weren't plentiful for a lot of us. From the time I got a Nintendo in 1987 up until i started to collect in college I owned only ten NES games. I became a master at most of those games and this title was one of them.
If memory serves me I really only beat Dr. Wily two or three times back then. I never really liked his castle and would stop playing after breezing through the 8 master robots.
Other than fond memories, what else could I write about that hasn't already been said about this series. It's not the best in the original line up, but it has that Capcom level of quality that we all came to expect of the series. I have a special bias for Mega Man series music as well, so I really enjoy the soundtrack.
