Metal slug 5, mecha them with a metal soundtrack, sounds like a match made heaven right? Except for the fact that metal slug 5 ended up being rushed resulting in cut content and untested multiplayer.

Personally, metal slug 5 would be the hardest entry out of all the arcade releases, mostly because every boss after the first one is now RNG. SAND MARINE IS GARBAGE.

Enemies are much faster and aggressive too, on the flipside though at least the first 3 missions aren't too harsh on you. Mission 4 is fine up until you reach sand marine, it's like putting sol dae rokker on the ground. Final mission? First segment is okay, Avatar of Evil sucks, someone told me it doesn't have much health either so I guess I'm just pretty bad at fighting it really.

What's new here? The slide mechanic (which only proved it's usefulness at in the final boss) and a brand slug called the Slug Gunner, personally my favorite slug because it can switch from a mech to a regular tank.

Soundtrack is just an aboslute banger too, just a shame this game was rushed, if it had more time then it could've gone toe to toe with metal slug 3.

It's hard to recommend this one due to how much faster enemies and aggressive the enemy AI is. Doesn't help the bosses are RNG based now, it's crudely untested for two players too. Personally, yes if you're going single player,I suggest lowering the difficulty on this really if you want any enjoyment at all. Plus the OST is such a bop, the remix of final attack is nice.
