Metroid II: Return of Samus [GB] Playthrough #02, Area 2: Metroids 33-27
This is video #02 in my playthrough of Metroid II: Return of Samus. This video does not contain commentary. To view the commentary version, click here: https://youtu.be/E9WJgsd5ojQ
Samus has reached the first save station in Area 2 after killing Metroid 34, an Alpha Metroid.
Continuing on past the next save station, she uses the Spider Ball to find Missile Expansion 7 (time 0:51). Farther on, she locates Metroid 33, Alpha Metroid #07 (time 1:03). Above this critter, she locates Missile Expansion 8 (time 1:28).
Above, behind a missile door, she will find the Varia, which increases her defense (time 2:00).
Down the left-hand shaft are several Metroids. First, Samus runs across Metroid 32, Gamma Metroid #01 (time 3:42). These are upgraded Alpha Metroids with thicker armor. They can shoot sparks of lightning. The require 10 well-placed missiles to defeat.
Its neighbor is Metroid 31, Alpha Metroid #08 (time 4:16).
Not far below, Samus finds Metroid 30, Alpha Metroid #09 (time 4:40).
Nearby is Metroid 29, Gamma Metroid #02 (time 5:23). This one is sadistically hidden in some sand. Fortunately, there is an energy refill near it.
In the upper-left part of Area 2's main chamber, Samus can bomb her way through the ceiling to find Missile Expansion 9 (time 7:21).
After climbing around, she will find the lair of Metroid 28, Alpha Metroid #10 (time 8:32).
To the right, she will find Metroid 27, Alpha Metroid #11 (time 9:00). This is the last Metroid for this area, but many goodies can be found below its lair.
Behind a missile door to the left, Samus will find the distinctive Wave Beam (time 9:47). At the bottom of a shaft to the right, she will find the High Jump Boots (time 10:28). Beyond the boots, she can pick up Energy Tank 2 and Missile Expansion 10 (time 10:55).
Back up and to the left, she can find Missile Expansions 11 and 12 (time 11:54). Farther on, she can find Missile Expansion 13 (time 12:13).
At the top of Area 2's ruins, Samus drops down inside (time 14:02). Below, she will find the Arachnus, a mini boss (time 14:13). It can only be damaged by Morph Ball bombs, and then only when it is not in ball form. Not a terribly difficult creature, but tricky. When defeated, it leaves behind the Spring Ball, which allows Samus to jump while in Morph Ball form.
Along the right-hand side of the ruins, Samus rolls in through a narrow opening and finds Missile Expansion 14 (time 15:15).
She saves at the save station before leaving the area.
Thanks for watching!
