So, after a little chit-chat with Anthony, Samus continues to explore the other parts of Sector 3. Eventually, she comes across the corpse of the mysterious creature she saw before. Looks like it must've evolved into something bigger. And it turns out to be... Ridley! And this is where the infamous scene that made everyone dogpile their hatred onto the game. Because this scene made look Samus weak, even if it took a short second to make her toughen up and beat the snot of the purple space dragon.
Ok ok, I know what you're thinking by this point: "Other M does a bad job portraying Samus. She's supposed to be badass!" But have you ever considered this: I mean, From Metroid to Super Metroid, Samus has fought Ridley numerous times throughout her journey, and even then that space dragon continued to persist. So, by the time Super Metroid happened, and when Samus defeated Ridley, he was obliterated into pieces. Nada. And you could think: "Well, Ridley is finally defeated, for good!". But just imagine having to see him again, AFTER THE FACT SAMUS HAD LITERALLY KILLED HIM. I mean, it would be a shock and surprise to see Ridley because we killed him and we're probably like: "But I killed you how do you still live?!". Maybe Team Ninja did a bit of exaggeration on their end.
Anyways, after Samus defeats a reborn Ridley, he retreats, while Samus goes after a suspicious Federation Soldier, who seems to be running from her. Then she finds the 'site manager' of the BOTTLE ship and explains what's been going on in here. After their discussion, Samus heads to Sector Zero, somewhere within Sector Two... odd layout if you ask me.
