Done in 3dsmax with the built in fluid sim.
Converted avi of finger video to numbered jpgs and used as Arnold background in the render settings. Also added to viewport background for reference, not environment background
Made a rough approximation mesh of my finger, matched footage of it moving best I could, and gave it a shadow matt texture on an Arnold Map to Material utility. Also a surface plain for the table with shadow matt texture.
Rendered with GPU.

I would have liked to avoid the shadow on the finger and may could have eliminated it, maybe next video I make.
