Ingredients:
1 cup salted butter
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon salt
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
1 1/2 cups dark chocolate chunks (I used two different types of milk chocolate.) :)
1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional) I do not like nuts in my desserts so I did not use any.
Flake salt for garnishing (I used sea salt.)

1. Mix the butter in a mixer until it is light and creamy, then mix in both sugars.
2. Add in each egg one at a time, mixing in between each addition. Add vanilla, and mix fully.
3. Mix the flour, salt, and baking soda together in a separate bowl, then slowly add into the wet mixture until everything is fully mixed.
4. Stir in the chocolate chunks. You may also add chopped walnuts.
5. Cover the top of the bowl of cookie dough with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 1 hour.
6. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F, 15 minutes before removing the cookie dough from the fridge. Cover the cookie sheets with parchment paper.
7. Using the cookie scoop, drop round balls of cookie dough onto the cookie sheets, 2 inches apart from each other. Top each cookie with a small sprinkling of flake salt, lightly pressing into the tops. (I used a regular spoon and gauged it. I then rolled it in my hands and placed on parchment paper.)
8. Bake for 13 to 15 minutes, or until the edges of the cookies are light brown. (Keep a watchful eye and if you prefer your cookies chewy as I do, take them out when they look JUST done, I am talking no brown edges. They still bake outside of oven.)
9. Cool for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to finish cooling. (I just slid mine off of the pan with parchment paper and let it sit on counter to cool.)
This is a lot like my recipe I use except I have a secret ingredient, use milk chocolate instead, and some measurements are varied. I loved these. Sweet and salty is my favorite combo. :)
