Minecraft :: How to Upgrade Java Worlds to 1.18 Without Generating New Caves
I've been experimenting with new map formats lately, and I proudly present two ways to upgrade your world to 1.18 without new caves appearing under existing chunks! I use the Windows operating system in the video, but the process should be similar for Mac OS and Linux.

- 01:13 Exporting Chunk Selection
After exporting your chunk selection, choose either Method 1 or Method 2 to continue.
- Method 1 is the easier way to preserve your old chunks, but you will not be able to access the empty space under y = 0.
- Method 2 is more complicated as it involves manually loading your chunks in snapshot 21w43a. Be prepared to spend hours flying around in your world with Elytra just to get to every single chunk!

Music (listed in order of first appearance):
Aria Math - C418
Comforting Memories - Kumi Tanioka
