Late-Game Minecraft 383 :: Makeshift Cow Pen
0After mining iron from the large cavern, we head outside to the surface as we are tired of constantly dealing with mobs! We set up a small farm, sowing wheat seeds in the soil beside a hole in the ground that serves as a cow pen! We harvest some wood before returning to the caves, and we make it to the deepslate level!
Mining some coal, we see that two skeletons have spawned nearby! A baby zombie on a chicken approaches us as well. We take quite a bit of damage, but we are protected by our shield and our armour! One of the skeletons drops a bow, which is nice to have!
We mine more iron and place down more torches. The cavern that we are in is really quite massive, and it might even be as large as the entire savannah! A skeleton shoots at us from behind a pillar, but it falls into a cave in the floor!
Two zombies approach us from the left! Hitting zombies always attracts more zombies to our presence, so we prepare ourselves for a big crowd of them. Indeed, two baby zombies start running towards us which is quite terrifying! Thinking fast, we build a pillar of cobblestone upwards to slay them from a safe position.
Our iron has finished smelting in the furnace! We craft an iron helmet and an iron chestplate and put them on. Now that we are covered fully in iron, we should be able to explore the caves more safely! We pick up our furnace and our crafting table before mining some coal.
Climbing up to the exit, we leave the giant cavern and head back to our savannah hill! We walk over to the hole that we had dug to trap the wandering trader's llama, and we realise that it has disappeared! Perhaps we could use the hole to rear some cows.
Expanding the hole, we place down some cobblestone to reinforce the walls! We gather some seeds from breaking grass as well. We store our miscellaneous items in our chest, and expand its capacity by making it a double chest! Crafting a stone hoe, we create a small farm plot beside the cow pen!
Heading to the coast to scoop up more water in our bucket, we return to our chest as the sun is setting! We pick up some wheat before sleeping to skip the night. The next day, we lure three cows into the pen with the wheat before feeding them!
A new baby cow appears! We craft an iron axe and chop down the acacia trees that have grown before planting some saplings around the pen of cows. Then, we chop down more trees! We destroy the leaves with our fists to collect saplings and sticks.
We place down some dirt to help us climb up to reach the acacia leaves! Flattening the area a little, we craft a new stone shovel. We keep our hoe in the chest before heading to the wheat farm to make the water infinite! An acacia sapling has grown, but we will cut down the tree another day!
Entering the mines again, we place down more torches around the ravine! We continue to light up the large cavern and fend off the mobs that have spawned. In the process, we notice some openings in the ceiling to caves that we have explored before! We also find more iron ore!
Mining the iron cautiously, we keep a lookout for any mobs in the area! Even after placing down so many torches, we have yet to light up the entire cave. As we mine some iron, a zombie pushes us into a corner! We are very glad that it was not a creeper which had found us!
A skeleton shoots at us, but we are unable to swing our sword at it because it stands too close to an Enderman! We have to be extra careful around an Enderman, as they do a lot of damage even with a full set of iron armour.
As we light up a creeper-filled cavern, we see some glow squids in the distance! We decide to head into a cave that leads deeper into the ground. Here, we find another ravine! We see some creepers walking around at the bottom and decide not to explore it further!
Going down a different branch, we see some deepslate which means that we are quite deep! Maybe we will find some diamonds soon. We light up a tunnel that leads to a dead end! After mining some iron, we repair our stone pickaxe and end the episode.
