The next step is to travel to Mon Island to take out the monster lab there. When you depart, you'll be attacked at sea.
[ 1:40 ] Boss: General Pi'i
He's fights pretty much the same as last time. Debuff him and he shouldn't be a threat.
On Mon Island, you'll have to fight some reskins of previous mutant bosses. You'll eventually reach a cave near the Rest Stop, which contains the lab. Travel through this lab until you find Ifa.

Note that after the cutscene, you'll have to return to the boss room to get the treasure that the party neglected. Good thing the enemies disappeared due to some insta-kill switch.
When you try to return to Nocca Port by boat, you'll be attacked again.

I don't really see the point in fighting him again so soon.
Eventually, monsters will teleport into Vaskia, and you'll have to fight them until a boss appears.

I think it may be weak to holy.
The next step is to take out additional monster labs, such as the one in a cave near Nocca Harbor.

Again, not giving the party a chance to grab the chests is a dick move.
