Moon Shuttle is one of my favorite "Golden Age" arcade games, released by Nichibutsu in 1981. I have played this on original hardware before, with a personal best score slightly higher than this run of 38,680 points. This gameplay was recorded with wolfmame .173 around 5 years ago, and I've not played it more than a casual credit since.
Moon Shuttle is unique in that it features a 3-way joystick on the dedicated cabinet; you can move the lever up, down, or right...no left!
The game gets frustratingly hard very quickly, so games are really hectic and quick because of this. The fireballs / suns on the final stage of the loop are very random and can home in on you wherever you may be. On loop 3 and onward, the asteroid field levels appear almost designed to be impossible. Technically, they can be passed but require great positioning and a bit o' luck.
I've uploaded this run because I've been meaning to get back into this game for some time now. Zerst (an amazing STG / scoreplay arcade player) recently put up a new MARP record of 43K, and it was very inspirational to watch. Zerst's channel: https://www.youtube.com/c/Zerst
As always, thanks for checking out my gameplay - I really appreciate it!
