Moraes is lying when he quotes me, says Esperidião Amin

🏛 ️ Congressional Power | Senator Esperidião Amin (PP-SC) stated this Tuesday (September 9, 2025) that Justice Alexandre de Moraes, of the Supreme Federal Court (STF), "lacked truth" when citing him during his vote in the trial of the Court's 1st Chamber regarding the attempted coup d'état.
During the reading of his vote, Moraes said that former Justice Anderson Torres, one of the defendants in the STF trial, had used an opinion requested by Esperidião to question the credibility of electronic voting machines in electoral processes.
According to Esperidião, the document was requested by the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) at the request of the then-president of the Electoral Court, Justice Luiz Fux. The senator stated that he only became familiar with the material when he presided over a thematic session in the Senate on vote counting and electronic system security recommendations.
"He [Moraes] explicitly stated the following: that the Federal Police report that mentions the need for the vote for auditing purposes does not exist [...] I don't have a copy here for each of you, but the document is a report prepared by three federal forensic experts," the congressman told reporters in the Senate. The report is dated October 2, 2018.
