Mortal Kombat 3 [SNES] - Motaro on other backgrounds
This is a playthrough of single player mode using Motaro's sprites/data on Jax in the SNES version of Mortal Kombat 3. Read on below for more information...
Motaro is the penultimate boss of the game. He is a hidden playable character, but he can only be selected in a 2-player game, meaning that he is unavailable in a single-player game.
For this playthrough, a different method is used to effectively "replace" the registered character (the one you chose on the character select screen) with the sprites/data of Motaro in gameplay. The main advantage to this is that it allows him to appear on other stage backgrounds instead of just The Balcony. The downside is that he will appear with the registered character's colour palette, which will look messed up. Here is some information if you're curious:
---- He can correct the messed up colours by getting hit by an opponent special move which makes him temporarily disappear or covers his sprites (an example being Kabal's Rush Spinner). However his colours will be messed up again for the next round or match.
---- Because it's not really Motaro, the damage you receive and the damage output will be of the registered character (in this case, Jax). This makes him much weaker than the genuine Motaro.
---- Because it's not really Motaro, if you beat the game, the ending will be of the registered character you chose (in this case, Jax).
---- Using this method allows Motaro to reach the "Finish Him/Her" window if he wins or loses. This means he can have fatalities performed on him if he loses on the winning round. Technically it also allows Motaro himself the chance to perform a fatality, but he doesn't have any.
---- A lot of graphical glitches and slowdown can occur when he is on the different stages and especially in the mirror match.
---- In the credits where it shows the cast of characters, Motaro appearing makes the screen scroll. It doesn't halt nor freeze the game though.

===== ABOUT SNES MK3 =====
This is a pretty good port of the arcade game... as MK got more advanced, it's clear that it got less close to the arcade when compared to the superb MK2 port. It should be noted that the Graveyard stage background is not in the SNES version of the game.
