This is a playthrough using Smoke in the SNES version of Mortal Kombat 3. Read on below for more information...

Smoke is a hidden character in the game. He can be fought against by entering a specific Kombat Kode on a versus screen. He is an unlockable playable character.

===== HOW TO UNLOCK SMOKE =====

There are two ways to do it, as follows:

----- 1ST METHOD -----

1) Boot up the game.
2) On the copyright screen, hold Left + [A]
3) Next on the Williams screen, hold Right + [B]
4) Finally when the '"There is no knowledge that is not power" message appears, hold [Y] + [X]. Hold these buttons down until the title screen appears.

If you've it correctly, Smoke will then walk across the title screen in front of the MK3 logo. He'll now be available, and will appear in the center dragon panel on the character select screen.

----- 2ND METHOD -----

On the menu screen, input the following command:

[SELECT], [A], [B], Right, Left, Down, Down, Up, Up

If you've done it right, the "Kooler Stuff" option will appear. Go into this section, and switch ON the "Enable Smoke" option. He'll now be available, and will appear in the center dragon panel on the character select screen.

===== HOW TO FIGHT SMOKE =====

In a 2-player game, enter the Kombat Kode 205205 on a versus screen. You'll then get a message saying that the winner of the round gets to fight him.

===== ABOUT MK3 SMOKE =====

Smoke originally appeared in MK2 as a human ninja... in MK3 he is a cyborg. Due to MK3 having no masked ninjas, it was kind of "logical" that he would be made into another variant of the cyborgs to be a hidden character. The Harpoon special move is a nice throwback to his MK2 incarnation, where he had Scorpion's Harpoon.

===== ADDITIONAL INFORMATION =====

---- In gameplay, he does not emit smoke when fighting Motaro. This is probably done to prevent slowdown.

---- He has his own stage background, the portal one.

---- He has Sektor's stance animations.

---- He has a slightly faster walking speed, especially the backwards walking, than Sektor and Cyrax. It's probably another throwback to MK2 Smoke, although it's obviously nowhere near as fast of course.

---- In human vs human matches, he is always locked on his stage background (the portal) against the regular characters. However when against the non-regular characters (Motaro, Noob Saibot and locked Smoke, who also have locked stages) his stage priority is varies.

===== ABOUT SNES MK3 =====
This is a pretty good port of the arcade game... as MK got more advanced, it's clear that it got less close to the arcade when compared to the superb MK2 port. It should be noted that the Graveyard stage background is not in the SNES version of the game.
