There are a few things I regret when it comes to gaming.
One of them is waiting this long to play Terraria-
Like I only just started playing but it already seems like it's jam packed with everything I love doing in games and lays everything out in such an interesting and free experience.

Two things I love irrationally too much when it comes to games, and that is building and exploring.
Building in a game is only as fun as the amount of freedom it gives the player.
In other words, a game may have a super in-depth building mechanic built into it, but if it can't supply the sheer weight of the player's creativity and/or imagination, it sadly falls apart for some.
I'm not saying this is the fault of the game of course, you can only support the building imagination of players so much before having to focus a big portion of development on the mechanic instead of having it just be a fun side thing to do.
Now this doesn't mean that building games are only good when they're just building and nothing else, games like Minecraft and ARK are prime examples of building games that are at the same time anything but just a game where you build stuff.
In Minecraft you can Mine, in ARK you can, uh, well you can ARK-
Basically all I'm trying to get at with all of this is that Terraria is a perfect example of what a building mechanic in a game should be, giving full creative abilities to supply the players' imagination.

Now, the building is awesome, but how is the exploration?
It's freaking amazingness incarnate-

Exploration is something that every type of adventure game can do and it'd turn out pretty good and fun.
But when it becomes a main selling point of your new big game, you need to have that nailed down perfectly, and most importantly, make it so that players won't get bored to easy.
Thankfully Terraria has this covered because the amount of stuff in it, the diversity and entertaining-ness factor of it all is like, deafeningly cool.
I haven't seen much super crazy stuff myself, but I've seen some of what this game has to offer.
And even though I haven't witnessed much super-craziness, after 5 hours straight, I didn't feel bored in the slightest.
This is due to not only the quality, but also the quantity of stuff to see, fight, obtain, craft, unlock, and build among many other things.
It's a building-exploration game that executes both flawlessly to create an experience not so often seen.

Now let me reiterate something I never said-
This isn't meant to be a review although I suppose that could be seen as exactly what it is lol
But all I wanna say is that I feel all of that and believe everything I just said, and that is after only the first few hours which I'm sure many would call tame in comparison to some of the other things you can do.

With this game being as big and freedom indulgent to the player, there's a lot of things I wanna do and try.
With that being said, if anyone wants to recommend ANYTHING, please do not hold back ^^
Now if in the meantime, I got like 87 bombs so I'm gonna dig a pit and try to reach the core of the Earth-
