In this video I re-do the PSU wiring as the original wiring was ... weird. I also start on the internal RS422-to-USB converter.

I'd earlier replaced the original 115VAC PSU with an Aussie 240VAC PSU (and plug), hence why I'm fiddling with the power cabling.

The fan had also been removed as it's rated for 115VAC. As per the Part 2 video, I'm planning to replace it with an NMB Technologies model 3115FS-23W-B30-A00 ... the period-equivalent model for 230VAC would be a W2S 075-AE13-02 ... quite pricey!

In hindsight, I get the RS422 wiring totally wrong ... fixed & verified in the Part 4 video:
