Thought it was about time I see if my PC/XT works ... and the answer is no. I checked my DE9 cable for video - it's straight through so I think that's okay.

It doesn't beep/complain when booting without a keyboard, so I'm guessing it's failing somewhere early. Disconnecting the hard drive doesn't show any attempt to read from the floppy drives.

It has the following:
[1] Twin half-height 360KB 5¼" floppy drives
[2] Single 20MB hard drive (Tandon TM-262)
[3] MDA video card (as per @joopidema & @JVHShack, thanks!)
[4] Persyst "Time Spectrum 384" multifunction card: 384KB RAM, RTC, parallel & serial ports
[5] Floppy drive controller with external floppy connector
[6] Hard drive controller
[7] IBM Model 5151 monochrome (green) screen
[8] BIOS version 11/08/82 (8-Nov-1982)

As per @joopidema and @JVHShack comments, I've changed [3] from CGA to MDA card, and can confirm it came with an IBM Model 5151 monitor (which was used with their MDA card).

The Varta 3/100DK0 barrel battery on the multifunction card has caused some corrosion, so I've removed it. There is some corrosion on the ISA slot pins.

So looks like I'll strip the whole computer down to check for any further obvious damage. It would be nice to powder coat the case.
