In this video I disassemble the Model F keyboard and give it a good clean as well as sending the case off to the powder coaters.

The keyboard is actually pretty easy to disassemble down to it's constituent parts.

There are some good videos on YouTube as well as written instructions:

For the case, I had the top case sand blasted, primed then powder coated - they couldn't do a textured coat in the same colour (only white) so I went for a smooth coat and I think it turned out pretty well - much better than the rusty original. The colour was the same as I used for the Commodore PET ... "Evening Haze" ... it seemed a good match to the original "beige" once again.

For the bottom case I had them just sand blast it as it was originally just painted. One issue is that some parts were originally "bare metal" to allow for electrical conductivity: the power supply section, the expansion slots, the parts that screwed to the top case and the floppy drive brackets.

I can't leave it bare metal as those parts will rust so I'm guessing some zinc-based spray paint for those. For the rest of the case I will prime and then spray in satin black.
