After the signing of the Treaty of Campo Formio, Napoleon turned his attention to his next priority: defeating England. Napoleon made a grand tour through various cities, including Turin, Chambéry, Geneva, Berne, and Basle, where he was celebrated by the crowds. He arrived at the Congress of Rastatt in a carriage drawn by eight horses, wanting to create a visual impact similar to that of European monarchs.
