Need for Speed Carbon (Fixed with Widescreen+HDR support) Cider Port for Mac
14My enhanced port of Need for Speed Carbon to the mac. The port is based on Cider 2432 (Sims 3 build) and adds many enhancements unavailable in the original port such as:
-Widescreen Support (achieved through UniWS, set to 1024x640 for this video)
-HDR support (The Sims 3 build provides proper Pixel Shader 3.0 support)
-Autosculpt works (for some reason broken in the official port)
-Improved performance on newer macs (later builds of Cider are more optimized for modern cards, such as the 9600GT and HD4850)
-Anti-Aliasing (Up to 4x)
-Motion Blur
This video was recorded in Snapz Pro X and edited in Final Cut Express on an Early 2009 24" iMac with a 3.06Ghz C2D, 4GB DDR3 RAM, and an ATI HD4850 GFX card. Enjoy ;)

To set the resolution to widescreen (set to 1280x800 in this port) select 640x480 as your resolution in the game. Simply copy all the files from your Need for Speed Carbon install into the NFSC folder in the app.
To find this folder, right-click (or CTRL-click) on the Need for Speed Carbon.app and click on "Show Package Contents" the c_drive folder is located in "Need for speed Carbon.app/Contents/Resources/transgaming/c_drive". The NFSC folder is located in "Program Files" the folder contains the patched widescreen .exe. Do not overwrite this! Just copy everything except nfsc.exe into the folder.
If for any reason this port doesn't work for you (black screen, bounce then quit, etc.), or if you want to set the game to a higher resolution than 1280x800, follow the instructions for the Full Version here:

The game should be running at the resolution of your choice.
