Payback is a Grand Theft Auto clone originally developed for Amiga computers by Apex Design and released in 2001. It was later ported to Mac OS X and GBA in 2002. Windows and Linux ports were also announced and almost finished, but never released. It was later ported to the gp2x, featuring many enhancements such as HDR, motion blur, improved shaders, models and textures. All these enhancements were implemented and improved upon in the iPhone App Store release of PayBack.

As this is a OS X port released in 2002 for PPC macs running OSX 10.1 'Puma", there are evidently some issues with the game on newer Intel Macs. One issue is the major lag while loading a level or up in a helicopter. Another is the lack of HDR support, something shat SHOULD work, but just doesn't. More importantly, the game doesn't run in widescreen resolutions and doesn't support fullscreen resolutions above 1024x768 and the clipping in the game has major issues.

This video was recorded in Snapz Pro X and converted with Adobe Media Converter CS4 on an Early 2009 24" iMac with a 3.06Ghz C2D, 4GB DDR3 RAM, and an ATI HD4850 GFX card. Enjoy ;)
