Paul Levy tells us about one of the many new products to arrive at Brownells this week: Apex Tactical's Action Enhancement Trigger for the Springfield Armory® Hellcat™. For a small daily carry / EDC pistol, the Hellcat™ comes from the factory with a surprisingly good trigger. But anything good can be made great. If you're familiar with Apex's other trigger upgrade kits, you've already guessed what this one does. It gives you a much smoother trigger pull of 5 to 5.5 lbs., with a crisp, clean break, followed by the reassuring "click" of an audible and tactile reset. Anything that makes a small pistol easier to shoot is a good thing, right? Apex's kit contains drop-in replacements for the trigger assembly and the springs, so it's easy to install. The Apex trigger shoe is made of aluminum, nicely anodized black, and yes - the proper function of the factory safety is preserved.
