Welcome back New World explorers, this video is a quick little public service announcement to NOT GET BANNED so early into the games launch.
There are plenty of grind spots, farms and exploits going around on Reddit, in-game global chat and on Youtube with videos showing off the insane rewards you can get from smashing out one for these many farms.
And before I continue I wanna clarify that I am a massive fan of AoE farms, grinding and clever use of game mechanics - they're fun, exciting and can help you get over boring slumps in some games progression paths.
I don't feel the need to pick a moral side on if you should or shouldn't choose to hop on one of these spots or exploits but I DO feel the need to spread the word and give warning of what you are risking.
Community Manager Tosch posted on the forums earlier today a response in regards to the Reekwater Named Elite Respawn Exploit that players are abusing for insane loot, xp and more.
Tosch clarified "Thanks again for the reports. We will fix this as soon as possible.
"Please note that repeatedly chain spawning mobs is considered exploiting and we will continue to investigate all cases and take further actions against accounts who abused such mechanics".
Whilst this doesn't implicitly state a permanent ban is on the table, you are a fool if you think it isn't a possibility.
New World has barely been out two weeks, it is Amazon Games Studios biggest game title and a lot of their hopes for cracking the games industry lays with the success of New World.
For a sustainable game environment that promotes long term playerbase engagement you want the games economy to be as unaffected by exploits and bots as possible.
Just look at WoW Classic and the absolute state of bots, boosts and real money transactions for in-game items and gold.
For players coming for WoW its easy to become complacent with bending the rules because of Blizzards lack of policing, exploit detection and employed game masters.
With recent news that in-game harassment, chat abuse and bots resulting in New World account suspensions or bans I think and hope the New World team are taking their games eco system seriously - so please weight the risks up when it comes to jumping on a farm so you can powerlevel skinning to max in 10 mins with an exploit because it won't be worth it if you're perma banned having to buy the game again and start from scratch.
