When a character’s hitstun ends, you can cancel the remaining knockback with certain moves or a jump into airdash.

However, with a few specials, you are actually able to reverse and keep the momentum, going faster than you would otherwise be able to while still in complete control of your character. These specials allow you to turn around during the first five frames of startup and have a floating property on their startup.

That would be Helga’s Neutral-Special, Ren & Stimpy’s Neutral-Special, and SpongeBob’s Neutral-Special.

While in this state, momentum changes from Strongs or other options apply as they would normally. You can also buffer a reverse Neutral-Special on Frame 1 by pressing Away and Special right before your hitstun would end, then holding Forward, so it’s just as effective as a jump into airdash without burning any resources.
